It was a sensational move indeed as the 16-year-old gymnast absolutely owned the moment. Moving her hoop with dexterity and incorporating the moonwalk dance steps from the record, Taisiia literally blew the crowd away.
Such an iconic performance by the bronze medalist definitely needed to be complemented by an all-time best song.
Central Europe wasn’t left out of the MJ vibes as gold medalist Darja Varfolomeev also performed her routine to the 1992 “In the Closet” single from the singer’s Dangerous album.
That was quite a great pick for the 17-year-old gymnast as the track’s beat matched up her dexterous show.
Later in the games, the synchronized swimming team from the United States also mesmerized the audience by using “Smooth Criminal” for their set.
